Welcome to Kinship
Motherhood is one of the most meaningful journeys a person can take — and one of the loneliest if you walk it alone. We built Kinship because every mom and mom-to-be deserves a circle of women who get it: the 3 a.m. feedings, the questions you're embarrassed to ask, the milestones worth celebrating, and the days that just feel hard.
Before you join us, we need to cover the legal side of things. We've tried to keep this readable, but it is a contract, and it matters. Please take a few minutes to read through these Terms of Service carefully. By creating an account or using Kinship, you're agreeing to them. If anything is unclear, you can always reach out to us at hello@findkinship.com.
A few important notes up front:
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Kinship.
- Kinship is not a substitute for medical, mental-health, or professional advice. Always consult a qualified provider for those.
- These Terms include an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver (see Section 16). Please read those provisions carefully, as they affect your legal rights.

Agreement to These Terms
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “User”) and Kinship App, Inc. (“Kinship,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Delaware corporation, governing your access to and use of the Kinship mobile application, our website, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, registering for, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
To use Kinship, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Be a mother, expectant mother, or someone actively trying to conceive, or otherwise fit within the communities Kinship serves;
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction;
- Not be barred from using the Service under applicable law;
- Not have been previously suspended or removed from the Service.
Kinship is intended for use in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Your Account
3.1 Registration
To access most features, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information, including a valid email address and information used for matching.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at security@findkinship.com of any unauthorized use.
3.3 One Account Per Person
You may maintain only one Kinship account at a time unless we expressly authorize otherwise. Accounts are personal to you and may not be transferred, sold, or shared.
The Service
4.1 What Kinship Does
Kinship uses proprietary algorithms to match Users into small chat groups based on factors such as life stage, geography, interests, and other inputs you provide.
4.2 Matching Is Not Guaranteed
Our matching algorithms rely on the information you provide and on availability of compatible Users. We do not guarantee any particular match, group, level of activity, or outcome.
4.3 Changes to the Service
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
4.4 Beta Features
From time to time we may offer features designated as “beta,” “preview,” or “experimental.” These are provided “as is,” may be unstable, and may be discontinued at any time.
User Content and Conduct
5.1 Your Content
“User Content” means any messages, photos, videos, profile information, or other material you submit, post, or transmit through the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content.
5.2 License You Grant Us
By submitting User Content, you grant Kinship a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service.
5.3 Your Representations
You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to your User Content, and that your User Content does not violate these Terms or any law.
5.4 Community Guidelines and Prohibited Conduct
Kinship is a supportive space. You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, defame, or intimidate any other User;
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that exploits or endangers minors;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation, age, or eligibility;
- Solicit, advertise, or promote commercial products, services, MLM/network-marketing opportunities, or political campaigns without our express written permission;
- Share another User's personal information, messages, photos, or identifying details outside the Service without that User's consent;
- Provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice in a manner intended to substitute for a licensed professional;
- Promote, glamorize, or facilitate self-harm, eating disorders, substance abuse, or any activity that endangers the health or safety of any User or child;
- Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code; attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service;
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the Service or collect information about Users;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service, except as permitted by law;
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation, including those concerning privacy, child welfare, or healthcare information.
5.5 Enforcement
We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, edit, refuse, remove, or disable any User Content or account at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
Privacy
Your privacy matters. Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Health and Safety Disclaimer
Kinship is a peer-support community, not a healthcare service. Information shared by other Users reflects personal opinions and experiences only. It is not medical, psychological, nutritional, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and should not be relied on as such.
- Always consult a qualified healthcare provider regarding pregnancy, postpartum, infant feeding, mental health, medications, or any medical concern.
- In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately.
- If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental-health crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (in the U.S., dial or text 988) or your local crisis service.
- Kinship does not verify the credentials, identity, or claims of any User. You are solely responsible for evaluating any information you receive through the Service.
Intellectual Property
8.1 Our IP
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and the “Kinship” name, is owned by Kinship App, Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8.2 Feedback
If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose without obligation or compensation to you.
8.3 DMCA / Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice to our designated agent at copyright@findkinship.com with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).
Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing
9.1 Free and Paid Features
Some features of the Service may be free, and others may require payment (“Paid Features”). Pricing and features will be disclosed at the point of purchase.
9.2 Auto-Renewing Subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription, it will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
9.3 Payment Processing
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google, respectively. Refunds are governed by the applicable platform's policy. Kinship generally does not issue direct refunds.
9.4 Price Changes
We may change prices for Paid Features at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle with reasonable advance notice.
9.5 Taxes
You are responsible for any applicable taxes associated with your purchase.
Apple and Google Platform Terms
10.1 Acknowledgment
These Terms are between you and Kinship only, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or its content.
10.2 Scope of License
Your license to use the Service is limited to use on Apple- or Google-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms or the Google Play Terms of Service.
10.3 Maintenance and Support
Kinship, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for any maintenance and support services for the Service.
10.4 Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge that Apple Inc. and Google LLC and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to your use of the Service on their platforms.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, apps, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for Third-Party Services. Your use of them is at your own risk.
Termination
12.1 By You
You may terminate your account at any time through the in-app settings or by contacting hello@findkinship.com.
12.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice or cause, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5.2, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17) will survive.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kinship disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Kinship does not verify the identity, background, or claims of any User. You interact with other Users at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Kinship, its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or use.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO KINSHIP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kinship and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and licensors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law or third-party right; or (e) any dispute between you and another User.
Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class-Action Waiver
16.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by sending us a written notice at notices@findkinship.com describing the claim. We will try to resolve the dispute within 60 days.
16.2 Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Kinship agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the AAA under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, with the seat of arbitration in Delaware.
16.3 Class-Action Waiver
YOU AND KINSHIP AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
16.4 Exceptions
Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
16.5 30-Day Opt-Out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to notices@findkinship.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to Section 16, any action not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email, in-app notice, or other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.
Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Kinship regarding the Service.
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely.
Force Majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
